Phoenix
Phoenix, a new teen transformation program, is a powerful training for youth ages 15 – 19. This YMCA program helps teens build self-esteem, enhance communication skills and take personal responsibility for themselves.
During an intensive three-day week end session at Camp Collins, teens create a new reality for themselves by evaluating who they are and where they want to go in life. Participants will experience team building and develop trust with our Challenge Course segment at Camp.
As a part of this process, teens develop a vision for their lives. Working with facilitators and adult volunteers, youth focus on making better decisions, as well as self sufficiency and leadership through service to the community.
Four follow up evening sessions occur in the community where the teens live and go to school. Art is an integral part of the training, including a Show Case at the end of the program with art performances from all of the teen participants.
Phoenix requires a strong commitment and students must attend all sessions. We provide financial aid, so all teens have the same opportunity to participate and grow.

Phoenix the Mythical Bird
The Phoenix is a mythical bird that is reborn through fire and rises anew from the ashes. Like this mythical bird, the YMCA Phoenix training helps youth rise anew from the ashes of their past experiences.
Community Partners
Community partners are critical to the success of the program. We are always looking for businesses and schools to help us reach more teens in their communities.
